Keyboards fail from spills, wear and missing keycaps. Trackpads fail from swollen batteries, loose cables and liquid. On many modern laptops the keyboard is riveted into the top case, and we replace the whole assembly properly rather than gluing in a loose part.

After a spill
If you spilled something, switch the laptop off straight away and don’t try to power it on. Liquid often reaches the motherboard as well as the keyboard, so we inspect the board at the same time. See liquid damage repair.
Questions we get asked
Can you replace just one key?
Often, yes, if the clip and keycap are available for your model. If the switch underneath is damaged, the keyboard needs replacing.
Will the replacement have a UK layout?
Yes, we fit UK-layout keyboards unless you ask for something else.
