Windows 10 support ended on 14 October 2025. Microsoft then offered home users a year of extended security updates, and those end on 13 October 2026. After that, home Windows 10 PCs no longer get security fixes, and there is no further extension for home users.
Your computer will keep working, but every new security hole found in Windows 10 will stay open, which makes it steadily riskier to use for email, banking and shopping.
Your options
- Upgrade to Windows 11 if your computer supports it. It’s free, and we can do it with your files, programs and settings kept.
- Upgrade the hardware. Some computers only need a setting changed or a new part to meet the requirements. We check what yours needs.
- Move to a new computer if yours can’t run Windows 11. We move your files, email and programs across and set everything up.
- Businesses can buy extended updates for longer, but it’s usually better to plan the move now.
How we help
- A check of whether your computer can run Windows 11
- Windows 11 upgrade with a backup first
- SSD and memory upgrades so Windows 11 runs smoothly
- Data transfer to a new PC or Mac
- Setting up email, printers, Microsoft 365 and security on the new system
Questions we get asked
How do I know which Windows I have?
Press the Windows key, type “winver” and press Enter. The window that opens shows your version.
Will I lose my files when upgrading?
Not if it’s done properly. We back up your files before any upgrade, and an in-place upgrade keeps your files and programs.
