Liquid damage is a race against corrosion. The sooner we get the laptop open and cleaned, the better the chance of a full recovery, and the lower the cost.
What to do right now
- Switch the laptop off and unplug the charger.
- Don’t try to switch it back on to “check it works”.
- Don’t use a hairdryer or put it in rice.
- Bring it in as soon as you can.
What we do
We strip the laptop down, clean the motherboard to remove residue and corrosion, then test each power rail. Damaged components are replaced at board level, and the keyboard or trackpad is replaced if the liquid reached them.
- Water, tea, coffee, juice, wine and beer spills
- Corroded charging circuits and short circuits
- Keyboards and trackpads damaged by sugary drinks
- Data recovery from the SSD if the board can’t be saved
